Amy Strang graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2019 with her Bachelor of Engineering specialising in mechatronics. She is passionate about transport technology both on the ground and in the air, and has experience working in Air NZ’s graduate engineering programme and currently at Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency in the Future Transport team. She has a particular interest in Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) technologies.
In 2019 Amy presented on her HD Mapping work at the ITSNZ T-Tech conference and attended the ITS World Congress Youth Leadership Development programme on a scholarship.
Amy is a strong advocate for diversity having been an executive member of the UC Women in Engineering club and now an ambassador for the Engineering NZ Rocket Challenge, which aims to inspire young people into STEM careers. She hopes that through her inclusion on the ITSNZ board she can help to encourage diversity in ITS industries in New Zealand.
