Amy Strang and Armin Guttke selected from several strong applications

The ITSNZ board agreed to appoint two youth board members to help support career and skills development, networking and developing knowledge and passion for ITS and future transport solutions.

 Amy Strang

  • Currently employed within the Air NZ graduate engineering programme
    Amy holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours specialising in Mechatronics.
    From May 2018 to October 2019 she was Mechatronics Intern in the Future Transport team of NZ Transport Agency with projects such as an HD Mapping project for autonomous vehicles and a transport computer vision trial in Christchurch.
    Amy participated in two NZ Transport Agency hackathons, placing 2nd in the All Access event 
    In May 2019 Amy presented on HD Mapping work at the ITSNZ T-Tech conference
    Selected to represent New Zealand the ITS World Congress Youth Leadership Development Programme in Singapore 
    Former Treasurer of the Women in Engineering Society at University of Canterbury, she also instigated and ran a hackathon for students with a focus on micro-mobility

Armin Guttke

  • Currently employed at Inov8 (inov8.co.nz) with the transport sector a key focus area. Inov8 is focussed on business benefits through the application of digital technologies and policy enablement for private enterprise and government clients
    Armin held former roles at IRD and Fujitsu. At the later he was a consultant contributing to, and managing projects including the implementation of journey planning through connected cameras for the NZTA, as well as the energy efficiency and sustainability grants programme for EECA
    Armin is a mentor for the ICT Graduate Mentor programme, which is building connections and opportunities for young graduates
    Contributing as a volunteer to the T-Tech Conference Programme Committee Armin has proven his enthusiasm and ability to help connect ITSNZ with wider digital and businesses sectors which is a key objective for ITSNZ identified in our Business Plan
