Stantec has appointed Mr Russell Yell to the role of Future Mobility and Digital Cities Leader for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).
ANZ Managing Director Mark Bruzzone said, "We were looking for a leader to help us advise our clients on the effect digital systems have on human behaviour in the urban environment. We knew straight away that Russell could bring his extensive global knowledge to benefit our local communities."
As Future Mobility and Digital Cities Leader, Mr Yell will lead Stantec’s digital and technology space in ANZ, helping clients embark on their digital transformation process, from strategy and vision through to solution delivery. He will also provide technical capabilities in transport planning across strategy and policy development, master-planning, ITS, active transport and rail.
"I have 15 years’ experience advising clients in the urban infrastructure, sports & entertainment and major events sectors," said Mr Yell. "My projects have ranged from looking at transport infrastructure requirements on a city-wide scale to data services and customer-facing digital solutions."
Mr Yell is a technically grounded project director and business leader who’s worked across the United Kingdom, Europe, Middle East, North America, Australia and New Zealand. More recently he developed the official Mobility App for the 2017 UEFA Champions League Final, stood as a smart cities and technology advisor for a government smart parking and access strategy, and led the delivery of an Open Data Implementation Plan for a pan-regional transport agency in the UK.
"Connecting people with technology to shape seamless, valued experiences for communities is both challenging and rewarding," said Mr Yell.
