Melissa is currently a Senior Network Planner at Bay of Plenty Regional Council, with a focus on improving Public Transport networks in the region. She was instrumental in bringing real-time bus tracking to the Bay of Plenty, and has a keen interest in the ways that technology can be used to make public transport a more attractive choice, including ticketing innovations, on-demand transport solutions, visibility of multimodal journey options and Mobility as a Service.

Melissa has considerable experience (>18 years) in school bus network and public transport network planning for both urban and rural areas around the Bay of Plenty. Melissa has a continued interest in supporting rural public transport and community-based transport initiatives.
