Tuesday May 27th Suwon, Korea – ITSNZ and our bid partners secured the rights to host 21st ITS Asia-Pacific Forum in 2027.
On May 5th-7th, 2027 the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) in Auckland will host over 1000 delegates for a 3-day conference advancing the future of intelligent transport solutions. ITS New Zealand and ITS Asia-Pacific will now collaborate to develop the event.
The theme of the 21st Asia-Pacific Forum will be Navigating Tomorrow: Advancing Intelligent Transport Together. This theme will underpin the conference programme for the benefit of New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region.
Winning against a formidable bid put forward by our colleagues at the Intelligent Transportation Society of Singapore our bid presentation focused on the ideas of working together and collaborating across borders and sectors to advance Intelligent Transportation Systems and technlogy-enabled transport solutions.
Key ideas within our bid are aligned with the New Zealand Government’s Going for Growth agenda and the Mayor of Auckland’s Manifesto for Auckland, with the city striving to become a global technology innovation hub. It communicates that we are #OpenforBusiness, open to #investment, new international expertise, ideas and iinnovation as well as to sharing New Zealand’s own transport and technology innovation, expertise and experience.
We are extremely grateful for the support from the Prime Minister, Rt. Honorable Christopher Luxon, the Mayor of Auckland, Wayne Brown, Chair of the New Zealand Transport Agency, Simon Bridges, Tourism New Zealand’s CEO, Rene de Monchy, and New Zealand’s Ambassador to South Korea Dawn Bennet.
