Ihsana Ageel

Ex-Officio Director

Ihsana Ageel is currently the Manager of System Strategy at Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, where she leads the development of long-term strategic planning for New Zealand’s transport system over the next 30 years. Her role also encompasses the creation of foresight products that identify and analyse emerging issues, helping to translate their potential impacts on the national transport network.

In addition to strategic foresight, Ihsana oversees the Future Transport and Innovation function. This includes horizon scanning for new and emerging transport technologies, assessing their implications, and identifying systemic barriers to implementation to ensure New Zealand remains at the forefront of transport innovation.

Prior to her current role, Ihsana held senior roles in local government and built a strong foundation, where she successfully delivered cross-partner initiatives.

Passionate about technology and digital equity, Ihsana is also an active volunteer in the not-for-profit sector, working to bridge the digital divide and promote equitable access to technology for all communities.
