Optimising Traffic Systems and Reducing Accidents with AI

    Join us to to learn about AI innovations for traffic monitoring and transport planning, as well as AI-enabled analytics for safety surveys.

    This two-part webinar will feature ITSNZ members Advanced Mobility Analytics Group (AMAG) and Urban Connection, who are joined by Logan City Council (Queensland, Aus) and Christchurch City Council (New Zealand)

    Real-time traffic monitoring and Transport planning analytics

    The first part of the webinar will examine real-time traffic monitoring and analysis, with AMAG’s “SMART Operations”, AI in transport operations
    centres in providing real-time traffic monitoring and conflict analysis.

    AMAG’s Simon Washington will talk to the SMART Operations platform, discussing how AI analytics can change the way we tackle
    optimising our traffic systems with infrastructure already available. Simon will be joined by Kin Kan, Principal Traffic Engineer at Logan City Council in Greater Brisbane. Kin will provide insights on Logan’s Road infrastructure planning challenges. He will focus on the
    city’s major road safety initiatives, addressing risks such as pedestrian safety and high-traffic areas and the approaches used to mitigate these risks, including the application of analytics and data-driven solutions.

    AI-enabled analytics for safety surveys

    In the second part of the webinar we will hear from Jacques Steyn, Christchurch-based Senior Transportation Engineer at Urban Connection, who led one of New Zealand’s first SMART Safety Surveys, for Christchurch City Council – recognised leaders in adopting innovation. Jacques will be joined by Gemma Dioni, Principal Advisor Transportation – Safety from Christchurch City Council, sharing insights into how the SMART Safety platform is helping them achieve their vision of reducing accidents and improving safety in local their community.
