ITS New Zealand has launched an Urban ITS Forum to connect those responsible for network efficiency, traffic operations and safety in New Zealand’s largest cities. Encouraged by central and local government to develop the forum, this initiative supports our core goal to support development, deployment and adoption of tech-enabled transport solutions.
It builds on existing activities of hosting knowledge-sharing events that help to showcase recent trials around the country. Several recent such events can be found on the ITSNZ YouTube Channel
The objective of the forum is to enable collaboration and sharing of knowledge across the urban centres, so that everyone can learn from trials and outcomes of advanced technologies.
While initially closed to government only the benefits coming from the forums are expected to support greater uptake of solutions through better knowledge and trials.
At the first meeting a draft Statement of Intent was developed to steer the focus and outcomes.
