December, 12 – At the Annual General Meeting ITS New Zealand recognised three sector leaders who have contributed significantly to the growth and profile of ITS in New Zealand. Being recognised with Life Membership for their significant contributions were Mr David Rendall of Fulton Hogan, Mr Martin Leak of Resolve Group and Mr Mike Rudge of Rudge Consulting (formerly at Stantec).

All three were past directors of ITS New Zealand, so not only contributed to the sector through their professional projects and leadership within their organisations, but also contributed directly to the growth and development of ITS New Zealand as an organisation. As Life Members they will be entitled to all benefits of an individual member indefinitely.

Dave Rendall joined the ITSNZ board in 2016 and was Secretary from 2019 until 2023. While on the Board he held roles as Deputy Alliance Manager at Auckland Systems Management, the Wellington Transport Alliance and National Strategic Traffic Management Lead at Fulton Hogan. He is a founding member of the Temporary Traffic Management Industry Steering Group. Dave is a Chartered Professional Engineer (NZ) and a Chartered Member of the NZ Institute of Directors.

He organised an ITS Forum at New Zealand House in London to share knowledge and innovations. He joined the board of ITSNZ in 2010 serving as a director until 2017, assisting with the ITS Asia-Pacific Forum in Auckland (2014).

Mike Rudge joined ITS New Zealand board in 2016 and became Chair and President in 2018, a role he held until 2024 when he was invited to join the board of the New Zealand Transport Agency. Mike led ITS New Zealand through the challenge of Covid, led the development of the Five-Year strategy launched in 2023, and his financial guidance was key to achieving the first profitable T-Tech Conference. Mike was also instrumental in development of international relations, driving the development of an MoU with ITS Taiwan.
