Darren Fidler

After discovering that maths was way more exciting when you applied it to real world challenges, Darren decided to apply a PhD in mathematically modelling fire to transport and economics, marginally less destructive. He spent 15 years working as a transport consultant across the UK, Australia and Aotearoa before working in regional, local and now central government for the last 6 years. He still finds mathematics, data and analysis interesting and spends his time interpreting complex issues and their potential solutions to decision makers. He is passionate about affecting change throughout the transport sector to a more environmentally, socially, culturally and economically sustainable future.
