Douglas Wilson

Dr Douglas Wilson is an Associate Professor in Transportation Engineering in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Director of the Transportation Research Centre (TRC) at the University of Auckland, New Zealand.

Doug is actively involved in the Intelligent Transport Systems and Transportation engineering community and leads research programmes in transport sustainability, future transport technologies, decarbonising transport systems, wireless charging of electric vehicles, Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAV), transport safety, transport and well-being, vulnerable transport users, transport infrastructure materials and pavement asset management systems.

Doug has considerable transport industry and professional civil engineering experience (>15 years) working for the government, local government and private consultancies prior to becoming an academic in 2000.
