Gemma Dioni

Gemma is passionate about people-centric design and how we shape places and spaces within our urban environments, to ensure communities are healthy and live able, resilient, and are well connected by multi-modal transport where people can move around safely and efficiently.

Working as the Principal Advisor Transportation Safety at Christchurch City Council, Gemma has a leading role in promoting safe outcomes for all road users on the network by, creating and delivering speed and infrastructure programmes that incorporate Safe System thinking through planning and design. Her design experience includes all forms of streetscape and intersection design, and safety improvements to help ensure people in Ōtautahi Christchurch and Te Pātaka o Rākaihautū Banks Peninsula get to where they are going safely regardless of how they are travelling.
