    Harshana Senanayake

    Doctoral Candidate
    University of Auckland

I’m Harshana Senanayake, a doctoral candidate at the University of Auckland, specializing in traffic modelling, economic analysis, and sustainable transportation systems. My research centres on electric vehicles, with a particular focus on optimizing the deployment of wireless charging infrastructure for both intracity and intercity transport networks. By integrating simulation tools with economic modelling, I aim to support data-driven decision-making that accelerates the transition to low-emission mobility.
I hold a Master of Engineering in Transportation Engineering and a first-class honours Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. Prior to my PhD, I gained over two years of industry experience in the transport sector, which continues to shape my practical and impact-oriented research approach. I’m passionate about applying emerging technologies to help cities develop smarter, more resilient public transport systems.
