Lauren Strpko

Lauren Strpko is a Product Design Specialist at Somar Digital, working alongside the CEO and Head of Innovation to drive the development of emerging digital solutions for public transport agencies. With expertise in Product Management and Design Thinking, she focuses on creating intuitive, user-centered tools that enhance customer communication and service design.

Before joining Somar, Lauren played a key role in transforming Greater Wellington Metlink’s customer experience, leading initiatives such as real-time information displays, disruption communications, and wayfinding signage. Her work has been instrumental in bridging technology with user needs to improve accessibility and clarity in public transport information.

Lauren holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Human-Centered Design and has earned certifications in Digital Accessibility, Information Architecture, and UX Design. She is also a Certified Product Manager (CPM) through AIPMM and serves as a Senior Facilitator for the Design Thinkers Academy, helping organizations adopt design-led innovation practices.

With over 15 years of experience in customer experience across multiple industries, Lauren is passionate about digital transformation in public transport. Today, she will explore how well-designed tools can improve clarity, consistency, and accessibility in transit information, ensuring that both agencies and passengers benefit from smarter, more effective communication.
