Paul Riding

Paul Riding is a seasoned IT leader with over two decades of experience in digital transformation, program and product delivery. As Group Manager Applications at Auckland Transport, he has been instrumental in driving digital initiatives and leading the improvements to the organisations customer touchpoints.

With responsibility for delivering the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) programme, Computer Vision, automated special vehicle lane enforcement and Real Time Operations technical workstreams, he has a keen passion for leveraging smart technology to manage and optimise roading usage – all with the goal to reduce Auckland’s congestion and keep public transport moving. Most recently responsible for leading the smart intersection “Bus Booster” programme, occupancy recognition, smart traffic detection roll out and the piloting of new real-time traffic management systems, Paul’s commitment to innovation and customer focus has led him to his current role of leading Auckland Transport’s technical workstream as they look at the challenging issue of congestion charging.
