Richard Smith

Richard Smith has been part of Tranzit’s electric bus innovation programme since New Zealand’s first electric bus took to the streets. With a deep understanding of government funding processes, Richard’s involvement begins during the early stages of project viability and planning.
As part of the project management team delivering electric vehicles and charging infrastructure, Richard also has first-hand knowledge of the challenges faced when working on new technology projects and with multiple project stakeholders.
Projects Richard has worked on include the introduction of Tranzit’s original 10 electric double deck buses into Wellington, the regional e-bus delivered in Palmerston North, the EECA/GWRC diesel to battery repower project and several on-route opportunity and in-depot charger projects.
