Simon Washington

Simon Washington joined Transoft Solutions in 2024 as VP, Transportation Safety & Operations and brings a wealth of road safety analytics and management knowledge. Simon is responsible for leading the development of Transoft’s road safety and operations technologies leveraging computer vision, big data analytics, and advanced econometrics to help organizations design, manage, and operate safer road infrastructure.

Prior to joining Transoft, Simon has held management and leadership positions as SafeTREC Director (UC Berkeley) and Head of the School of Civil Engineering (University of Queensland). Simon is a globally recognized authority on road safety, he has held academic posts at Georgia Tech, the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, and University of California Berkeley, and received numerous awards for his high impact and innovative research.

Simon holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis, and B.S. and M.Sci. degrees in Civil Engineering from the California State University at Chico.
