Dr Minh Kieu is a Lecturer in Transport Analytics at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Auckland. Originally from Vietnam, he undertook a Master study in Sweden, obtained a PhD from Australia and worked as a Research Fellow at the University of Leeds in the UK before he joined the University of Auckland in 2020.
He is an expert in data analytics, AI and computer simulation in transport. His research has been contributing to large projects for the Transport for NSW, Transport & Main Roads in Australia; and Waka Kotahi and Ministry of Transport in New Zealand.
He is fascinated with helping students connect to the transport industry, not only through delivering the fundamental knowledge of transportation engineering at the University of Auckland, but also through student-oriented events, internships and opportunities. Minh is in a good position to be the link to the industry for students, as he is also the Exchange & Conjoint Student Coordinator, the Department Lead at the Auckland Open Day, the Transport representative at the Teaching & Learning Quality Control Committee, as well as an International Strategist at the University of Auckland.
